JOB SUMMARY: Provides student assessment and classroom training in Water/Wastewater Management; assists in the planning, development and evaluation of outcome based curriculum for water/wastewater management vocational courses for incarcerated students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides student assessment and classroom training for incarcerated students; plans, develops and implements outcome based water/wastewater management curriculum; evaluates and selects instructional materials appropriate to the class and environment; develops written syllabi, course outlines and written reports as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in water/wastewater management field; water certification from state of Arizona; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to obtain Arizona Department of Corrections (ADOC) clearance; clearance may include, but is not limited to background check, psychological and drug testing.DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience working with at-risk populations; experience in training or instruction. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is located at the Lewis Prison facility approximately 60 miles southwest of downtown Phoenix; daily contact with minimum, medium, and maximum security male inmates; compliance with all ADOC policies and procedures is required; must be able to obtain ADOC clearance, which may include, but is not limited to, background check, fingerprinting, drug testing, psychological testing, and TB test; successful candidates must have own transportation and valid Arizona Driver License; must be able to show evidence of current auto insurance; may require lifting up to 25 lbs.; may require some evenings and/or weekends.
