JOB SUMMARY: Performs maintenance and installation of computers; provides assistance to users with operating problems or system related malfunctions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist campus wide users through helpdesk system; resolve tier II hardware and software issues on Mac platform; create deployment images for Macintosh operating system; resolve network, and hardware issues; write procedure and instructional documentation for end user support; inventory of equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Proficient knowledge of hardware and software on Macintosh, install and operate hardware, peripheral devices; proficient knowledge of Macintosh operating system both OS9 and OSX, including a variety of software applications; knowledge of Mac OS integration with Novell environment; knowledge of local and wireless networking fundamentals, cabling and protocols; experience operating a variety of electronic testing equipment, diagnostic and repair tools; ability to communicate orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationship with faculty, staff and students.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in computer field; experience working in an Information Technology helpdesk in a college environment; Apple certified. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Evening and weekend hours required; ability to lift 50 lbs.
